Transition Victoria’s Food Working Group has been meeting regularly since March 2010. To date, we’ve developed vision and mission statements, co-hosted ( with CR-FAIR) community circles to provide input into the City of Victoria’s Official Community Plan review process, initiated contact with other local food organisations, and have two major action project.
Mission: In response to the major social and ecological challenges of our time, Transition Victoria’s food working group will develop and implement a collaborative action plan to increase the ecological and social resilience of food systems in the Victoria region, while decreasing our energy dependence.
Vision: We envision a secure, abundant, resilient, equitable food system in the Victoria region, created joyfully by vibrant communities operating within whole ecosystems and using integrated energy and resource cycles
We also encourage you to join the Food Working Group on the Victoria Transition NING . By being a member of this working group, you will be able to post or add comments! On the NING is where you will find the Food Group’s vision & mission statements, discussion forums, next meeting location / information, meeting notes, Food Group Work Parties at Spring Ridge Commons, Information on the Capital Nut Project, etc.
